The project entitled ‘We all learn differently’ aims to remove boundaries of accessibility and inclusivity within online education. Through the guiding principles of Universal Design for Learning, a set of design guidelines were developed, reinforced by UX Design Institute’s 7 design principles, to assist course creators and instructors in creating equal and fair online education for all.
The COVID-19 pandemic dramatically shifted education from traditional classrooms to online settings, presenting significant challenges such as technological barriers and maintaining student engagement. Despite these obstacles, educators adapted by implementing innovative online teaching methods like interactive multimedia and virtual classrooms. However, issues of accessibility and inclusivity persisted, with students facing difficulties in engaging with online content. This project explores the potential of combining Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and User Experience (UX) Design principles to address these challenges.
